Another advantage of car vinyl wrapping is that it is easy to maintain. Unlike paintwork, it doesn’t require frequent polishing or waxing, and it will not affect the resale value of your car. Furthermore, the wrap can be professionally removed in case of any damage to it. It will be a much less expensive option than respraying your car, as you can easily remove it when you are done with it.
When it comes to vinyl car wrapping, there are three phases to the process. The first phase involves accurate measurements of your car. After that, you design the graphics and then choose a vinyl type for it. In the production phase, you will print and laminate the graphics to protect them from UV rays and abrasion. In the installation phase, the vinyl is applied to your car. Once the wrapping is completed, you can choose to have the wrap removed or replace it with another design.
The cost of car vinyl wrapping varies widely. The average car wrap requires 18 metres of vinyl, which means you’ll spend between $900 and $1,300 in vinyl costs. Vinyl prices vary depending on the brand, colour, and finish.
The wrap is designed to maximise UV protection and scratch protection. Then, it will look stunning on your car! Don’t forget that the finish of the wrap can be removed and replaced at any time.
Our Vinyl Coating Process
Quoting
Our process for full vehicle vinyl wraps begins with either a meeting or phone call. In which, we will run through all details of the job. This will include things like:
- Vehicle Year, Make, Model, Submodel etc.
- Vehicle Colour
- Vinyl Colour
Once all this information has been gathered, we can provide you with a detailed quote.
Installation
When your vehicle enters our shop, we will first inspect the car for any damage and have the customer sign off on the paperwork. This ensures your peace of mind when the vinyl is removed, you know exactly what damage was on the vehicle prior to the vinyl installation.
Next, we begin disassembling parts of the vehicle which are necessary to achieve a seamless, and flawless finish. This includes parts such as the door handles, mirrors, headlights/taillights, and sometimes the front and rear bumper.
After the vehicle is finished, we have an independent team member look over the entire car to ensure every part of the wrap is faultless and unlikely to peel or wrinkle.
Completion
Once your vehicle has passed our quality checks, and it is ready to be picked up, you will be contacted for collection. And thanks to our extensive process, you can rest assured:
- Your vehicle’s paintwork will remain undamaged for the duration the vinyl is installed
- You will have a full 2-year warranty, meaning if anything lifts, bubbles, or peels due to installer/film error, it will be replaced free of charge!
Vinyl Wrap FAQS
Will vinyl wrapping damage my paint?
We only use the best quality vinyl available on the market, which means it will not damage the paintwork when removed. Cars that have been resprayed or have a poor quality paint job will need to inform us of this so we can have a close look at the panels to see if vinyl is suitable.
How much does a vinyl wrap cost?
As every car is a completely different shape, size and colour, it is best to contact us to get an idea of costs.
How do you clean vinyl wrap?
Vinyl wrap is fairly easy to maintain, and you can usually use the same products as your original paint. Usually, you must use pH neutral soaps, and not polish or wax the film, although Inozetek super gloss films can be polished and waxed if there are swirl marks present.
How long does a vinyl wrap last?
The lifespan of vinyl from most manufacturers is around 5 years in Australia. This can vary depending on what conditions the wrap is exposed to.
Is it cheaper to get a car painted or wrapped?
A good quality respray will typically cost upwards of $10,000, compared to a full wrap between $4,000 and $5,000. A respray is also not reversible and may affect the resale of your vehicle, whereas vinyl is completely removable so you can take it off at anytime.
